Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
A very common disease among men
About 110 million men are affected by BPH globally. As the prostate enlarges it squeezes the urethra which can restrict the flow of urine and cause the following issues : urinary frequency, pain or burning during or after urination, slow flow of urine.
In case of non-treatment, BPH can trigger complications such as kidney damage, serious infections of the urinary system and the presence of blood in the urine.
The greenlight laser enables to naturally treat the obstructing prostate tissue through the urethra without any cut in the skin and whatever the size of the gland is. In addition there are less risks of bleeding and of blood transfusion.
The re-intervention risk (recurrence of symptoms due to the regrowth of the adenoma) is inferior to 10% after 3 years. Erections and libido are usually not altered by this intervention.
